here i go again....

some weeks ago i was wondering why ppl in s/w industry dont work much b4 deadlines and then stay late when the deadline is near...and now i m in the same situation...one fine day we group members(v r a group of 3 doing a project) and my mentor and buddy woke up when they received a mail from the admin department stating the date for submission of project(code + report +presentation)....and the going has been hard since then....i even started working at home to meet the deadline..and now at least the code is running and we have the SRS and design doc complete...i have even made the presentation (at home :-) )....now theres a bit of documentation left which will be completed in the next 2 days...then i will be free... :-) ...i will be put into a live project then....i m gonna have a blast this weekend ..its been ages since i watched a movie on the theatre...

Neha, Tell me about deadlines! :-)
Its kinda become the standard way to do things, in the s/w industry. Start slow, have fun, and then stand upside down to complete the work, last few days :-)
Good that most of the docs and source code are ready... Coding is also fine, but this documentation n report preparation are a real pain.. Wish your deadline passes off smoothly, without any tension :-) Have a blast after that!

Well Neha, this is what is classically known as the Students syndrome. People put off their work, thinking that there is enough time to complete the job. When the deadline approaches, they just find that it wd hv been better if they had some more time. And the fun part is, even if they complete their job on time, they dont report it. As is sometimes said, "If u are given something to do in 7 days, complete 80% of the job in 10 days, coz my dear, this is BUSINESS and not SPORT"
